BOVEN DIGOEL – On behalf of Tunas Sawa Erma Group (TSE Group), PT Tunas Sawa Erma delivered 53,400,000 IDR in scholarships to 42 kids of nearby hamlet leaders. These grants are to cover funding for the first semester, with the handover taking place on Saturday (6/24) at the company’s office, Jair District, Boven Digoel.
Scholarships are part of PT TSE’s support towards parents of school-attending children, where the company tries to alleviate their burden of paying educational expenses. This program is also a way to provide equal education opportunities and later create a generation of highly-performing Papuans who are more capable and progressive — despite coming from far-off regions.
Through a symbolic ceremony, the money was given directly to students at varying levels of education, from elementary to college.
Mikan clan chief Ignasius Mikan said this aid is “very valuable” for the kids, and gives them the drive to study harder.
PT TSE representative Yohanes Sada Nanlohi expressed his hopes. “I hope the funds will benefit those pursuing their studies and be used well.”
Scholarship provision is a concrete action taken by the company to run educational activities under the Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) program. Other than education, CSC also focuses on healthcare, infrastructure, economic, and environmental issues.
PT TSE is part of TSE Group, which runs an oil palm plantation. PT TSE is committed to practicing sustainable palm oil governance and keeps innovating in an effort to prioritize fulfilling its environmental and social responsibility. (TSE Group)
