BOVEN DIGOEL – As part of its strategy to build resilient, disciplined, and adaptable teams, Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group trained its plantation managers in Agile methodology and agronomic standards.
Held August 3-4, 2026 at TSE Group’s office in Asiki Village, Jair District (Boven Digoel Regency), the event promoted the motto “Aku Tahu, Aku Mau, Aku Lakukan” (I Know, I Want, I Do). It was designed to strengthen a work culture focused on results and efficiency.
“Training Agile & Standar Agronomi” (Agile and Agronomic Standards) aligned with the company’s work values: precision, collaboration, and effectiveness, said TSE Group’s Managing Director Inlae Kim.
“We hope this two-day training will bring about changes in field operations. Plantation managers need to pay closer attention to issues on the ground and be part of the solution,” Kim added in the event’s opening ceremony on Monday (8/3/2026).
The first day had participants learn about agility and problem-solving to help them navigate the changing dynamics of their workplace and approach management issues with viable, methodical solutions.

Meanwhile, the second day featured a field visit to PT Papua Agro Lestari (PAL)’s plantation, where participants observed firsthand and reviewed the real-world application of what they had learned.
Key parts of the visit were on-site inspections at plantation blocks that adhered to measurable agronomic metrics, cross-departmental discussions to harmonize strategies and technical understanding, as well as the implementation of eco-friendly innovations — specifically empty fruit bunches and palm oil mill effluent (POME) as additional nutrient sources for oil palms.
At the event, participants also implemented drought mitigation tools, such as tree watering bags and a “stop-block” system (water barriers) to preserve soil moisture.
Through a hands-on, data-driven, and results-oriented leadership approach, plantation teams can usher in the future of agronomy. TSE Group also believes this future lies in the hands of those with the knowledge, willingness, and courage to do so.
