BOVEN DIGOEL – Despite being located at the borders of Papua and Eastern Indonesia, Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group actively celebrates the annual National Occupational Safety and Health Month (BK3N). A morning ceremony Tuesday (1/21) set in motion the festivities at the company’s subsidiary and regional offices, attended by management and staff members.
This ceremony soon segued into a fire drill contest involving all departments. Its purpose is “improving promptness and alertness during emergencies and ensuring employees have the skill they need to quickly and effectively handle fire incidents,” said Human Resource Development and Management director Ronny Makal in a separate statement.
“At this National Occupational Safety and Health Month, we’d like to affirm our commitment to providing all staff with a safe and healthy workplace. People capacity building for OSHMS [Occupational Safety and Health Management System] is key to improving productivity and prosperity at the office. Let us work together to preserve safety and health and create a better future,” Makal continued.
Lasting from January 12 to February 12, this event went by the theme “Human Resources Capacity Building to Support Occupational Safety and Health Systems Use in Boosting Productivity”.
The morning ceremony also featured a Manpower Minister mandate reading by TSE Group executive Daniel Sim Ayomi. According to the Minister, occupational safety and health is more than a way to prevent accidents; it is an intentional investment to cut business losses, improve employee quality of life, and strengthen national competitiveness as well as productivity on a global scale. Therefore, having qualified workers is integral to OSHMS’s success and an effective OSH culture.

BK3N aligns with TSE Group’s pledge to follow OSHMS regulations and train its staff through regular programs run by its Training and Innovation Center. These programs aim to enhance skills and develop competencies, enabling more productive and innovative work.
Using this momentum, TSE Group hopes to improve safety and health at its sites and contribute to a better work culture in Indonesia. (PR)
