BOVEN DIGOEL – Delinquent and improper behavior among today’s youth has become somewhat of a hot potato. It has developed into an issue that’s often brought up in discussions aimed at finding preventive solutions.
Driven by concerns over social issues like this, Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group launched Social Education, which is a part of its CSR-oriented programs, Corporate Social Contribution (CSC). Its latest event happened Friday (7/21) in two public junior high schools across Jair District, Boven Digoel, which are SMP Negeri 1 Jair (Jair 1 Public Junior High) and SMP Negeri 1 Terek Subur (Terek Subur 1 Public Junior High).
The company team delivered what’s called the ‘Social Education’ lessons, which included a short class on general law led by TSE Group’s PR Deputy General Manager Daniel Sim Ayomi, BSS, LL.B., MPA, a motivational lecture by Simonsius Sibha, BRS (Bachelor of Religious Studies), and a session on the dangers of promiscuity by Anggi Pratama, LL.B.
“The program’s nice, it helps us teachers uplift the kids and teach a little more than what we usually do. Of course, it’d be better if we could do this kind of activity again,” SMP Negeri 1 Jair’s principal Hermanus Wamce told the PR team.
Similar to what Wamce has mentioned, Social Education is intended to motivate, provide basic law knowledge, and warn students of the risks of promiscuous, norm-breaking behavior. The company also urged teachers to continue giving encouragement and moral messages about “the horrors” of drugs and casual sexual relationships.
Enthusiasm could be seen in the audience that day, and especially during the quiz session, where winning kids would receive prizes. Armed with their best guesses, students went up against each other to get the most answers.

“Today’s lessons were so inspiring for me, and they’re fun,” said Maria Margareta Bakbar, a ninth-grader at SMP Negeri 1 Jair.
Besides classes and lectures, there was a handover session where PT TSE manager Park Zoozang handed out a physical map of Indonesia to Wamce.
