BOVEN DIGOEL – Ujung Kia's community farm has reaped its first fruits, which local villagers receive with immense joy. This farm is based in Ujung Kia Village, Kia District, Boven Digoel Regency. At the harvest location, villagers held Derma Adat, a traditional offering ritual symbolizing gratitude to the gods.

The event unfolded on Saturday (10/9) with the help of Peran Serta Marga (PSM) Cooperative. Village members had gathered since the early morning, donning traditional attire and carrying with them ceremonial apparatus. The ritual went smoothly and lively, and continued with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that marked the farm's success.

“This farm motivates us, customary land owners, to manage crops better through the local co-op,” said Ambrosius Yasi, representing the land owner group.
