BOVEN DIGOEL – As an oil palm plantation and management company in Papua, PT Tunas Sawa Erma (PT TSE) is responsible for empowering local communities financially through actions like building smallholder (plasma) farms as mandated by Indonesian laws.
On Friday (11/10), PT Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE)’s director Kim Inwoog followed through with this obligation by transferring a 1,741.39 ha plot to Peran Serta Marga (PSM) Cooperative in a symbolic ceremony at Honai Hotel in Boven Digoel Regency. PSM leader Lukas Habanggi received the certificate on behalf of the cooperative.
“I hope the plasma farm, which PSM will operate under our [TSE’s] guidance, improves shared prosperity and creates stronger ties between the company and community,” said Kim in his greetings.
Also in attendance that day were Boven Digoel’s regional secretary Jefri Hanny Izaak Nirahua (representing the regent), Capital Investment and One Stop Service head Mahmudin Abdullah, Boven Digoel Plantation Service head Wempi Wellem Hutubessy, Boven Digoel’s Cooperative Division head Juny Liaran, Jair District head Yulius Inanggi, Getentiri Subvillage chief Wilhemus Abelama, PSM supervisors, and TSE executives.
“I ask your support to ensure the success of this partnership,“ Habanggi addressed the stakeholders and state officials.
Nirahua, the regional secretary, shared his appreciation of the handover ceremony. He expected the plasma farm, which he deemed the first in Boven Digoel, to boost the economy in Jair District, most importantly in the subvillages of Getentiri and Ujung Kia.
PT TSE is an oil palm plantation company under Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group, which commits to practicing sustainable palm oil governance and puts out innovations to prioritize its environmental and social responsibilities. (PR)
