BOVEN DIGOEL – Indonesia is seeing countless inspirational and visionary figures come to the fore in this increasingly globalized era. Dominated by Gen Z, they have achieved impressive feats in numerous domains: government, private sector, even tech-based industries.
Local oil palm plantation company Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group put together a program called Social Education to boost manpower development all the way to the heart of Papua. Taking the theme “Smart Generation”, one of its events recently took place at Jair Public Junior High in Getentiri Subvillage, Jair District, Boven Digoel Regency, South Papua on Friday (3/8).
In this one-day “class”, students learned about leadership values and the importance of education, which for the younger generation includes lessons on communication skills, effective decision making, and integrity-driven leadership.
“This program offers practical knowledge and also raises awareness of the role of inclusive, sustainable leadership principles. We call the students to learn how they can use their leadership capabilities to take part in positive changes, from their immediate environment to a wider world,” said speaker Daniel Sim Ayomi.
The company hopes to encourage young Papuans into developing a leadership mindset and mentality, and create a new set of open-minded, inspiring future leaders.

“The lessons are fun and compelling. It would be nice to have this again,” said ninth-grader Lilis Marice Manaku in response to the program.
Events like this are nothing new to TSE Group. Social Education has been running since 2023, offering general lessons aimed at improving knowledge for students in nearby schools. (PR)
