BOVEN DIGOEL Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group’s free mobile clinic has gained access to Butiptiri Subvillage, a notoriously remote area in Jair District, Boven Digoel Regency.

Its distance has forced villagers to endure long, exhausting journeys and hours of sailing to reach the nearest puskesmas, a local term for state-run health centers. This difficult geography, coupled with economic constraints, is a serious challenge for residents and particularly those needing urgent medical attention.

Through the mobile clinic — a Corporate Social Contribution program — TSE Group is able to provide routine checkups, free treatment, and health education, all tangible solutions for the small settlement.

“This program reflects our love and support for local communities. We strive to continually contribute to the health system as part of our social responsibility,” said Esau Abraham Irioma, a manager at TSE Group.

Representing the subvillage, Timotius Kenakop expressed his deep appreciation for the service.

“The mobile health service is a great help. We don’t have to spend that much money and time, enduring hours of sailing just to visit the puskesmas. [Instead,] it’s the doctors coming to us and providing a great service,” Kenakop said on Thursday (12/4) during his treatment.

This clinic enables TSE Group to support well-being improvement at its locations. By bringing healthcare directly to isolated regions, the company hopes to bridge the gap in access and enhance quality of life for all indigenous communities in Papua.

This initiative has also increased health awareness and is expected to help deliver better health outcomes in Boven Digoel’s inner areas. (PR)
