SOUTH PAPUA – Social Education has brought a breath of fresh air for students in Boven Digoel and Merauke. This program by Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group offers a two-way learning experience that aims to enrich and encourage.

It holds short educational sessions focused on local, relatable issues (e.g. underage promiscuity, drug use) and basic subjects like English vocabulary. Its interactive approach makes it exciting for the young participants — who attend the sessions from their own schools in the company’s vicinity.

Phelipus Samkakai from Mam Public Junior High (SMP Negeri Mam) felt the immediate outcome. His session featured light discussions, Q&As, and educational games that kept his friends engaged and paying attention.

“These extra lessons from TSE Group have made me more confident and excited about learning. Every session just motivates me,” he told the PR team on Tuesday (3/3/2026).

This praise was echoed by Ujung Kia Public Junior High (SMP Negeri Ujung Kia), whose principal, Arnal, called Social Education “impactful on student progress.”

“It’s a really great program for our students. We hope it continues and its benefits are felt more widely,” Arnal said at a recent session.

These events have been run consistently in recent years across local elementary, junior high, and senior high schools. As an addition to formal education, Social Education sessions encourage curiosity, self-confidence, and learning to help the children reach a brighter future.

As an oil palm plantation and management company in South Papua, TSE Group strives to practice sustainable governance through “Corporate Social Contribution” (CSC) programs centered on developing local social and natural environments. These include improving the quality of education at its operational locations. (PR)
