JAKARTA TSE Group’s stunting reduction efforts bore fruit on Wednesday (12/10), when the company received a Gold-level “Genting” award from Indonesia’s Ministry of Population and Family Development. Genting stands for Orang Tua Asuh Cegah Stunting, a program allowing governments, companies, and individuals to sponsor families whose children are at risk of stunted growth.

The handover featured Population and Family Development Minister Dr. H. Wihaji and TSE Group Director Luwy Leunufna. It’s a segment of the Genting Collaboration Summit, which celebrates Genting partners for their amazing work.

For TSE Group, stunting prevention is more than a social initiative — it’s a long-term commitment to improving living standards, said Leunufna.

“We believe collaboration is central to our success. Collective action brings change and helps future generations,” he added, speaking at the event themed “Sinergi Untuk Negeri, Wujudkan Indonesia Bebas Stunting” (Collaboration for the Nation: Zero Stunting Indonesia).

Genting in itself relies on synergy; it gathers stakeholders from across sectors to serve stunting-prone toddlers as “foster parents” (Orang Tua Asuh). Its participants can include state-owned enterprises, regional-owned companies, NGOs and community groups, learning institutions and academicians, individuals, and the media.

As a Genting partner, TSE Group has captured the attention of the Ministry of Population and Family Development for its consistency. The ministry regularly monitors the company and fellow participants to ensure consistent performance.

Through Corporate Social Contribution (CSC), TSE Group is able to prioritize public health improvements to enhance the lives of communities in South Papua, where it operates. Stunting prevention is one of its leading initiatives, run in partnership with the Getentiri Puskesmas (state-run health center) in the form of a mobile posyandu (maternal and child health service).

This traveling clinic brings medical care to remote settlements using a “door-to-door” approach, or home visits.

Basic healthcare is frequently provided to local mothers, babies, and toddlers, including vaccinations, height and weight measurements, as well as immunity boost through vitamins and supplements.

Through mobile posyandu, TSE Group hopes to increase basic vaccination coverage among babies and children under five. This is considering the large number of parents who do not or have not had the means to immunize their little ones.

The company is also working with the Boven Digoel Family Welfare and Empowerment mobilizer team (TP PKK) on nutrition classes and the provision of healthy food for Naga Subvillage Public Elementary (SDN Kampung Naga) in Jair District. These efforts aim to raise public awareness on balanced diet and its pivotal role in stunting prevention.

With the win at the Genting Collaboration Summit, TSE Group is further encouraged to strengthen its collaborations and deliver impactful programs to ensure all young Indonesians grow and develop optimally. (PR)
