JAKARTA – Since the ‘70s, Indonesia has sought to cultivate safety awareness and implementation across industries with the Occupational Safety and Health Month (OSH Month).
This program isn’t strictly symbolic, said TSE Group’s HRD & GA Director Sunghoon Lee at the OSH Month kick-off ceremony Wednesday (1/14), courtesy of the Learning and Innovation Center (LIC).
“OSH Month is a pivotal moment [for us] to encourage greater awareness and initiative to uphold safety and health principles. As work accidents remain high, we need to do our best to reduce them with a stronger OSH culture, compliance with safe work procedures, and strict control of hazard risks. Making this happen needs commitment and work from all of us.”
LIC’s General Manager Setiyono echoed this importance of awareness-building. He said it supports the efforts to strengthen TSE Group’s commitment to safe, healthy, and productive environments.
“Across sectors, workers are exposed to varying levels of risk. This situation calls for a strong safety and health foundation to ensure risk-free environments for the long run.”

This year’s OSH Month theme is “Building a Professional, Reliable, and Collaborative OSH Management Ecosystem”.
At TSE Group, OSH Month begins online, and its opening ceremony is held simultaneously for all locations. What differs this year is the roll-out of two “challenges”: Hazid Challenge (a video-based hazard identification and risk assessment contest) and Fit Fun Day Challenge (an aerobics video competition aimed at promoting fitness and healthy habits).
Later, the OSHMS Award (SMK3 Award) will take place on January 23 to honor locally-based companies with stellar safety and health management systems. This event will follow up on last year’s achievements, where PT Tunas Sawa Erma A, PT Tunas Sawa Erma B, PT Berkat Cipta Abadi, PT Dongin Prabhawa, dan PT Gelora Mandiri Membangun, all TSE Group subsidiaries, earned a Satisfactory rating on their OSHMS certification.
Through OSH Month, LIC hopes to bring safer, healthier, and more productive ways of working to all TSE Group departments and divisions. (PR)
