BOVEN DIGOEL – This year, Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group staged a flag-hoisting ceremony, along with an earthquake simulation and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) “challenge” to honor this year’s National Occupational Health and Safety Month (shortened to BK3N in Bahasa Indonesia). The entire management and staff joined the event at TSE Group’s office yard in Asiki Subvillage, Jair District, Boven Digoel Regency, South Papua Friday (2/9).
Each department sent one team to the competition, whose judging panel included TSE Group’s “K3” or HSE coordinators, Learning and Innovation Center staff, also clinic doctors and medical personnel.
Contestants were assessed based on punctuality, proper execution of methods, and communication as they dealt with “emergency” situations like apnea and cardiac arrest.
Three teams came out as winners. PR Department took first place, followed by Engineering and General Affairs.
“We hope this competition helps improve first aid knowledge. It is our innovation in building a K3 culture and ensuring health, safety, and comfort at work,” said Learning and Innovation Center coordinator Mohamad Fauzi.
“K3 Culture Creates Safe, Healthy Work and Sustainable Business” is the theme chosen by the Manpower Ministry for this year’s BK3N celebrations

TSE Group executive Jemmy Senduk, who read Manpower Minister’s greetings at the flag ceremony, asked all staff to be consistent as they run the health, safety, and environment management system (HSEMS) at work.
“As per applicable laws… so that the K3 culture takes root in each and every member of the organization and work productivity increases. All staff can continue practicing occupational safety and health principles, especially at work, to help preserve company assets and support business longevity,” the Minister said, as quoted by Senduk.
