BOVEN DIGOEL – Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group is a corporate group running an oil palm farming and management business in South Papua. It commits to practicing responsible palm oil governance with consideration for the environment. This practice is translated into Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) programs as a way to pay heed to and empower the social environment of nearby communities.
Building on this commitment, TSE Group subsidiary PT Berkat Cipta Abadi (BCA) donated foodstuff to dozens of senior citizens and children without dads in Aiwat and Subur subvillages in Subur District, Boven Digoel Regency on Friday (3/1). In the donation packages were rice, cooking oil, instant noodles, coffee and sugar packets, as well as milk cartons.
Foodstuff is a crucial aid in the ongoing food crisis faced by households worldwide, where two groups — the old and the fatherless — are often found in a vulnerable position, requiring extra attention.
This is most true for residents of the Papuan hinterlands. With scarce access to food supply and healthcare, basic food assistance becomes critical to support day-to-day activities and relieve the burden of food provision.
“These donations greatly help our elders and kids with no father satisfy their needs for food ingredients, and for that we are fully grateful to TSE Group,” said Aiwat representative at the handover ceremony, Kaitanus Tinggin.
TSE Group hoped its assistance could help alleviate food needs and meet daily intake. The company pledges to ensure the prosperity of local communities and run effective programs that make this possible. (PR)
