Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group’s subsidiary, Berkat Cipta Abadi (BCA), has inaugurated Papua’s first biogas and compressed biomethane gas plant in Merauke, turning palm oil mill effluent (POME) into methane to power its facilities and reduce annual diesel use by 4 million liters. Launched at the “Green Power, Born from Waste” event attended by top local officials, the initiative supports Indonesia’s net-zero goals and Paris Agreement targets, with projected annual CO₂ cuts of 60,708 tons and 2MW power output for BCA’s kernel crushing operations. Governor Apolo Safanpo and Regent Yoseph Gebze praised the plant’s role in promoting energy independence and sustainable development, while TSE pledged further investments in clean energy and eco-friendly operations across its subsidiaries.
