BOVEN DIGOEL – PT Tunas Sawa Erma A (TSE A), a business unit of TSE Group, together with the Boven Digoel Regency Government discussed the plan to build a more feasible and representative local market for Papuan Mothers (Mama-Mama Papua) in the Camp 19 area, Jair District, Boven Digoel Regency, South Papua, on Thursday (June 4, 2026).
The discussion took place during a working visit led directly by the Regent of Boven Digoel, Roni Omba, S.IP. During the visit, the Regent was accompanied by the Community and Village Empowerment Office as well as the Customary Community Institution (LMA). The delegation was welcomed by the General Manager of Public Relations of TSE Group, Daniel Sim Ayomi, along with the leadership ranks of PT TSE A.
The meeting served as a space for discussion between the regional government, representatives of customary communities, and the company to formulate the concept of a more organized selling place for Papuan Mothers. The meeting produced several alternative locations deemed suitable for the market’s construction.
The Regent of Boven Digoel, Roni Omba, stated that the plan to build this local market is part of the regional government’s efforts to improve the quality of the community’s economic facilities.
“The important thing is that the community no longer sells on the ground and can have a more decent place,” said Roni Omba.

So far, local traders have been utilizing makeshift areas to sell agricultural produce and the community’s daily needs. Therefore, several aspects of concern include security, the comfort of traders and buyers, accessibility, as well as alignment with future regional spatial planning.
The Leader of PT TSE A, Mr. Taeyul Hwam, said that the company is open to coordinating with the regional government and community representatives. He emphasized that TSE Group supports programs that can provide direct benefits to the community.
“We are very open to sitting down together, discussing further with the regional government and community representatives. Our goal is the same, which is to find the most ideal and safe location so that this market provides maximum economic impact,” stated Mr. Taeyul Hwam.
The plan to build this local market is expected to be a concrete step in encouraging the economic independence of the indigenous people of South Papua. In addition to providing more adequate physical facilities, the presence of the market is also expected to strengthen family economic resilience, open up more productive business spaces, and maintain the important role of Papuan Mothers in the social and economic life of the community.
