BOVEN DIGOEL, April 14, 2022 – To welcome Easter 2022, PT Tunas Sawa Erma (PT TSE) is here to ease burden and spread love by distributing packages of basic necessities (staple food) to the community in several locations including Villages of Miri, Tamun Tunas, Kali Kao, and Tanah Merah in Boven Digoel Regency, Papua, on Saturday (9/4).
The staple food aid was in the form of 86 sacks of rice, 86 boxes of instant noodles, 12 jerry cans of cooking oil, and 51 packs of sugar, coffee, and tea.
All the staple food aid was distributed to 9 clans of customary rights owners, 3 places of worship in Villages of Miri, Tamun Tunas, and Kali Kao, 2 village representatives, as well as 2 nursing homes and orphanages in Miri and Tamun Tunas Villages.
This assistance is part of the Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) programs of PT TSE as a realization of the company’s concern for people who are experiencing economic difficulties and it aims to develop the social environment of the Papuan people.
The aid was symbolically handed over to representatives of the customary rights clans, namely Elias Mikan, Esebius Amote, David Igiti, and Yanuarius. Afterward, the groceries will be distributed to the homes of residents located in Miri, Tamun Tunas, Kali Kao, and Tanah Merah Villages.
The staple food aid from PT TSE, without doubt, received a warm welcome from the community. They were grateful that the assistance came at a time when food prices were increasingly soaring. They acknowledged the assistance as very valuable and beneficial. “We would like to thank the company for providing us with staple food aid for Easter day,” said the customary rights owner, Esebius Amote.
PT TSE’s concern was not only targetted towards people in need. Previously on April 8, PT TSE also gave appreciation for the services of educators in the remote areas of Papua in educating Papuan children by distributing honorarium worth Rp7,200,000 to 4 teachers at SDN Persiapan Miri for the first quarter. This honorarium distribution aimed to motivate educators to always be enthusiastic in teaching students in Papua.
Lambertus Tenarop as the principal at SDN Persiapan Miri expressed his gratitude and hope on the occasion. “I am grateful to the company for the help provided. I hope the assistance provided to our teachers and students can be useful for the development of the school in the future,” he said.
Theresia Kiminimarop S.pd as the Stasi Board Member of St. Paulus Miri, who is also one of the recipients of the staple food, thanked the company for the routine assistance provided to the teachers. “We would like to thank the company for always providing us with staple food every year, both on Christmas and Easter,” she said.
