SOUTH PAPUA – For Christians everywhere, Easter is a time of joy. But not even the warmth of the Holy Week can relieve the issue of lacking basic items, something shared by many of our brothers and sisters in Papua.
This year, TSE Group came through with the needed staples, aiming to offer a glimmer of hope and make Easter celebrations spiritually meaningful and physically impactful on local communities.
Dozens of food packages made it to the hands of people at several subvillages and churches in the regencies of Boven Digoel and Merauke on Tuesday (4/15). Each one featured instant noodles, rice, cooking oil, and granulated sugar, and together they were evenly distributed to households, older people, and orphans in need.
These donations were a great help, alleviating the burden of many to keep kitchens stocked.
“We feel the packages are very helpful, especially at a time when food prices are on the rise. Thank you, TSE Group; we hope this assistance continues,” said Wilem Tutainon, an indigenous beneficiary.
The palm oil company seeks to support residents’ well-being while showing love and solidarity ahead of the big holiday, explained TSE Group’s PR General Manager, Park Jibae.
“Easter is a time to share love and happiness. We hope our aid can save everyone the trouble of getting food, and bring joy on this special day,” Park added.
Not only does this action forge stronger bonds between the company and its neighbors, but it also encourages others to share. Onwards, TSE Group will continue to run sustainable, effective programs for society. (PR)
