MERAUKE – Providing access isn’t the only challenging aspect of ensuring education in Inner Papua. There’s lesson delivery — how teachers make learning materials digestible and engaging according to age and development stage.
In its attempt to build character in young Papuans, TSE Group has developed tailored resources focusing on basic knowledge (e.g. numbers, letters, basic math, astronomy) and moral values (e.g. honesty, discipline, mutual respect).
The company’s mini classes use diverse, interactive activities like videos and general knowledge quizzes that add excitement. In addition to this are free schoolbag and stationery handovers, which support and motivate students while meeting their needs for school supplies and recognizing their hard work.
“We’re trying to build intellect and character in local children. Our Social Education program aims to produce upright individuals who drive regional progress,” said PR General Manager Daniel Sim Ayomi.
TSE Group regularly provides an easy, fun learning experience — a part of its efforts to honor its pledge of making a better future for the kids. The latest Social Education class was conducted at PT PAL Selil Public Elementary and Kigorun Public Elementary in Selil Village, Ulilin District, Merauke Regency on Wednesday (5/7).
Previous editions have taken place across Boven Digoel, with topics geared to student needs. These include social issues (e.g. mental health), leadership, state defense, and environmental conservation.

Praises poured in from the students and teachers, who found the lesson motivating. One teacher from Kigorun, Imelda Sambang, relayed her deep appreciation for the program.
“Interactive learning excites students and helps them grasp the material faster. We really hope programs like this will continue to support the future of children in remote areas and keep them encouraged to learn,” Imelda said.
Through Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) initiatives, TSE Group meets its shared responsibility to enhance the education system and character building in South Papua. (PR)
