MAPPI – PT Dongin Prabhawa, a business unit of Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group held a health social service in Banamepe Village, Mappi Regency, Papua, Saturday (30/10). This Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) program is the company’s form of concern for the local community, especially in the health sector.
The company’s management also involved Dr. Angga, a doctor at the Dongin Prabhawa clinic and Kaserinus Mere, a nurse at the clinic. Both examined the physical condition of the residents and provided medicine if there are any complaints based on the examination results. This free examination was intended for all society groups, from children, adults, to the elderly.
Based on the examination results, Angga found some people experiencing respiratory infection symptoms, such as cough and colds. He provided medicines as well as recommendations on medical treatment to prevent more symptoms.
Dr. Angga hopes that the health service that directly reached out to the community can be done intensively for residents in various regions, especially those located in the remote area or areas with difficult access to health facilities. “Hopefully health social services like this can continue to be held so more and more people would enjoy a good health service” he said.
Dongin Prabhawa’s concern through the health social service was welcomed with enthusiasm by the community. The Head of Banamepe Village, Leonard Hairu expressed his gratitude to the company’s management team for conducting CSC activity in the region. The activity was very meaningful because residents did not need to spend time or money for transportation to go to a health facility, which is located quite far.
He hopes that similar health services can be carried out on a regular basis. “I hope that this health service and treatment can be improved and regularly carried out every month,” said Leonard.
In addition to health examination on the residents, Dongin Prabhawa also provides counseling on healthy living at home to prevent various kinds of diseases, such as education on ways to consume clean water and implement organized eating pattern. (pr)
