MERAUKE – Tunas Sawa Erma Group subsidiary PT Papua Agro Lestari (PAL) made its latest honorarium payment for three Cenderawasih Public Kindergarten teachers Monday (2/9). The kindergarten is part of PAL’s main camp in Ulilin District, Merauke Regency, South Papua.
Regular honorarium payments allow the company to support early childhood education in deep rural areas. PAL believes teachers play a huge role in early knowledge building, even with limited supporting facilities and geographically related constraints.
As most rural teachers work for free, PAL is helping to ease financial pressures and keep them focused on their mission, said General Manager Sumarji.
“We want these payments to relieve the beneficiaries of their financial burdens and keep them laser-focused on providing the best education for young Papuans. We’re aware that our social contributions have the power to improve education and life quality in local communities.”
Honorarium recipient Maria Esti Wea thanked the company for its support, which continues to encourage her and two other recipients.
“This money means a lot to us. It’s not just financial aid, it’s our motivation to continue giving our best for the kids.”
An early education provider, Cenderawasih Public Kindergarten has long been serving communities and employee families in Ulilin District. Despite the lack of resources, its teachers maintain their roles as educators and guides, who lay the groundwork for primary education.
PAL hopes to enhance the lives of these teachers and promote better early education quality in South Papua — honoring its social responsibility commitments. (PR)
