BOVEN DIGOEL – Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group regularly runs “Social Education” events, which is a way for local students to expand their knowledge. Going by the theme “Building Papua with TSE Group for 2045 Golden Generation”, the latest iteration took place at Camp 19 Public Junior High, Jair District, Boven Digoel Regency, South Papua on Wednesday (12/15).

The oil palm corporation teamed up with nuns from St. Fransiskus Xaverius Catholic Church in Asiki to fill the students in on social topics, such as mental health and character building. The session emphasized honesty and responsibility as tools to tackle future challenges.

The whole class was bubbling with excitement and actively interacted with speakers. “My friends and I were very happy to join the Social Education class today. We hope to have this activity again, it motivates us to work harder on our studies,” said seventh-grader Bertila Onggon.

A quiz was later held to test their comprehension. It turned the atmosphere livelier, as students scrambled for answers. Winners got a prize each.

This event was praised by Camp 19 teachers, who expected similar activities to be held in the future to promote character-building. “I hope what we’re doing with the company can have positive impacts on the students and help them make better academic achievements,” said St. Fransiskus Xaverius’s Sister Faustina.

Through Social Education, TSE Group is demonstrating commitment and responsibility to build local people, said company representative Daniel Sim Ayomi. Ayomi encouraged Camp 19 students to invest their time in learning, through which they could become more informed individuals and leaders of future Indonesia.

This program also underlines TSE Group’s attention to the local education system and community prosperity. It will continue at nearby schools as part of the company’s efforts to raise a qualified generation of people. (PR)
