MERAUKE – PT Papua Agro Lestari (PT PAL), part of Tunas Sawa Erma Group, gave out 434 reusable bags to its employees to promote 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) principles in the company. The handover ceremony took place at PT PAL’s office in Selil Village, Ulilin District, Merauke Regency, South Papua Province.

Using these bags for daily activities is a good habit that, if practiced massively and regularly, has a huge impact on waste reduction.

Staff are hoped to pass on the message of reducing single-use plastics through frequent sustainable bag use to their families and neighbors.

“Giving eco-friendly bags is our way to drive workers to put more attention and efforts into environmental protection. These handbags can be worn multiple times, helping cut down plastics. I really hope that through this ceremony, our staff pays more attention to the environment, is aware of the importance of limiting plastic carriers, and gets used to using the bags,” said Yunika Febrinda Mangiri, PT PAL’s sustainability assistant manager.

In the company, 3R is run according to ESG (environmental, social, and governance) principles to help PT PAL be more environmentally responsible. By adopting eco-friendly business practices like slashing carbon emissions and industrial waste, the company can contribute to nature and environmental safeguarding.

This action is an extension of TSE Group’s campaign to support its 3R program. Spunbond bags are distributed in stages in all business units. (PR)
