BOVEN DIGOEL – The Asiki Clinic, part of Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group, once again hosted a community blood drive. Held in collaboration with the Merauke chapter of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), the event took place on Saturday (13/9/2025) in Asiki Village, Jair District, located in the Boven Digoel regency of South Papua.

Starting at 9:00 AM local time, hundreds of people—including local residents, company employees, and military personnel—gathered and patiently awaited guidance from the Indonesian Red Cross and Asiki Clinic staff. They were assisted through every step of the process, from registration and health checks to the blood donation itself.

“We all understand that behind hospital walls, in operating rooms, or in emergency units, there are people whose lives often depend on the blood we donate. A single drop of our blood can be an ocean of hope for them,” said Jemmy Yohanes Senduk, General Manager of TSE Group, in his opening remarks. “Every bag collected today helps those in need and secures the future of our loved ones.”

The enthusiasm from everyone involved in the event, themed “Give Blood, Give Hope, Save Lives,” was a powerful testament to the strong spirit of community and mutual support that remains deeply rooted in Papua.

“I’m thrilled to have an event like this in our village. It’s an opportunity to give back to others,” said Yohanes, a local resident, with a smile after donating. “My blood is healthy, so why not share it with someone who needs it?”

At the end of the day, hundreds of bags of blood were collected. For Asiki Clinic’s Manager, Dr. Firman Jaya Wijaya, this was more than just a number. “Every bag of blood we gathered today isn’t just a statistic; it represents hope for our brothers and sisters who may be fighting for their lives and in need of a transfusion.” He added that the blood drive is tangible proof that even in remote areas, the values of humanity and compassion thrive.

“Our initial target was modest, but the enthusiasm from the residents of Asiki and the surrounding areas surpassed all expectations, resulting in over one hundred bags collected,” Dr. Firman noted in an interview. “This highlights a growing awareness of the importance of donating blood.”

This blood drive is part of a series of events celebrating the anniversaries of the TSE Group Clinic and Asiki FM Radio, all organized with the goal of creating a sustainable and positive impact on the community.
