BOVEN DIGOEL – Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group brings fun, inspiring classes to local students through the Social Education program.
This time, the event going by the theme “Smart Generation” took place at Boven Digoel 4 Public Vocational High (Jair District, Boven Digoel Regency) on Wednesday (2/21) and Mam Public Junior High (Ngguti District, Merauke Regency) on Monday (2/26).
During both visits, company representatives reminded the audience of the importance of preserving cultural, group, and racial diversity as local wisdom that must be respected. By fostering tolerance, TSE Group hopes to build a friendly relationship among the people. This talk is part of the company’s “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika” lesson segments, which delve into Indonesia’s motto of unity in diversity.
The class also discussed environmental and social matters, where students got hands-on by planting tree saplings around the school building. This particular session is intended to allow the children to grow a love for the environment and advocate for sustainable development.
Mam teacher Josefa Janjaan said the Social Education program was a big help for her and the teaching staff in educating the kids. “On behalf of the school, I would like to thank TSE Group for the extra lessons. They were very motivating and educational. We teachers are often limited by time, so we can’t teach much. To have this activity is a blessing.”
TSE Group’s deputy general manager Daniel Sim Ayomi also led a leadership class aimed at shaping character and building great leaders.
Kids looked excited and passionate when trying to answer questions thrown by company staff at the end of the lessons. “My friends and I get so much useful knowledge here,” said Boven Digoel 4 student Maria Polandakonmop.
Social Education is one of TSE Group’s ongoing Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) programs that aim to help schoolchildren in remote, frontier, and backward regions expand their knowledge and get a chance to reach their dreams, just like their urban counterparts.
Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group commits to developing tolerance among local communities, preserving local wisdom, and building harmony in each of its activities and policies as a way to uphold the values of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. (PR)
