BOVEN DIGOEL – Yusak Mayoh, a student of Ujung Kia Public Junior High in Ki District, Boven Digoel Regency, South Papua, was looking thrilled at the Social Education event held by Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group at his school on Friday (4/19).

That day, the company delivered a lesson on his favorite subject: planets and the solar system. For Yusak, who lives deep in the heart of Papua, stars and heavenly bodies are a common sight, objects he sees with just the naked eye. But when it comes to complete information on the universe, it’s a different story.

No wonder the boy and his friends couldn’t take their eyes off Yovita — the speaker — as she explained bits and pieces of planetary system knowledge. In addition to astronomy, environmental preservation was the topic brought to the kids by TSE Group official Pratik Prihatin.

This event received positive reactions from attending students and teachers, whose excitement was visible as they interacted with both speakers and other company representatives.

“We are grateful and happy with Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group for its Social Education program, which has made a positive impact on our students. I hope it continues in the future, especially for schools in remote areas,” said Ujung Kia principal Adolfina Rantelembang at the occasion.

Social Education is part of TSE Group’s Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) educational-oriented programs. Going by the theme of “Smart Generation”, it aims to provide the next generation with knowledge and enlightenment. (PR)
