SOUTH PAPUA – Asiki Public Middle (SMP Negeri Asiki) students were empowered with moral knowledge Friday (7/18) at the latest Social Education event in Jair District, Boven Digoel Regency.

Moral education is crucial for early teens in their transition into adulthood, where their character and identity are continually being developed. In Social Education, this subject translates into reinforcements of positive character traits and moral values such as mutual respect, honesty, discipline, and responsibility.

Social Education itself is part of TSE Group’s efforts to support local education and, as a Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) program, reflects a commitment to people development.

Its event Friday (7/18) also featured environmental education to nurture early awareness of ecological preservation.

“Papua is blessed with natural wealth, and so protecting it would be the best thing to do. Today, we want you to be more aware of your natural surroundings [and take care of them] through small, everyday actions,” said TSE Group’s Public Relations staff Maria Polanda during one of the sessions.

Excitement filled the room every time a session closed with a quiz. Winners were awarded for their participation and spirit with fun prizes.

One student, Matelda Guam, said, “I was really excited to participate. We [students] got to know how to protect our environment and learned about good values. Thank you, TSE Group, for coming here and bringing us new knowledge. I hope we can have this [activity] again soon.”

The educational program has demonstrated TSE Group’s support for sustainable development in Papua. The company believes that people development, particularly through education and character building, lays the groundwork for Papua’s future.

Like so, TSE Group remains committed to improving local education quality, whether through infrastructure aid, funding, or moral and character education. This way, Papuan students may grow to become resilient and honorable individuals. (PR)
