BOVEN DIGOEL – Middle schoolers felt uplifted this National Education Day thanks to TSE Group’s quiz bowl.
Held at the Asiki Office in Jair District, “Generasi Cerdas Indonesia Emas” (Smart Generation, Golden Indonesia) is part of a wider effort to build the “Golden Generation”.
“It’s a way for us to build smarter students, and a way for the students to test what they learned. Here, kids get to develop courage, teamwork, a fighting spirit, and critical thinking,” said TSE Group executive Daniel Sim Ayomi.
Teams were sent by Jair Public Middle School, Mam Public Middle School, Nurush Shobah Islamic Middle School, Asiki Public Middle School, and Camp 19 Public Middle School. They fiercely battled on a wide range of topics from Math, Science, Social Studies, Bahasa Indonesia, to English.
Tensions heightened in the tossup round, where groups continually one-upped each other and left both judges and audience members in bated breath. This strong enthusiasm reflected great sportsmanship, drive to learn, and academic knowledge, which the event brought out of players.

Nurush Shobah emerged as the winner, followed by runner-ups Asiki (2nd place) and Jair (3rd place). Each received a prize and a certificate to celebrate their efforts.
“These contests really help us test our understanding and build confidence. We look forward to having them again [next year],” said Mam student Agnes Marieth Geraldine on Thursday (5/15).
As a palm oil company in South Papua, TSE Group does more than just business; it strives to support better education outcomes in the places it operates. (PR)
