SOUTH PAPUA – Papua Agro Lestari (PAL) got creative with conservation at its fruit planting event Saturday (6/28). The event is part of an effort to maintain ecosystem balance in South Papua and promote sustainability.

Members of local communities took part in the sowing and care of durian, longan, and rambutan seedlings.

These young plants act as ecological buffers and will provide nearby settlements with long-term food security benefits through fruit harvests.

Local Luis Walter Maikuin thanked the company on behalf of the participants. “We would like to thank PAL for its unwavering attention to the environment and efforts to engage the people in positive activities. Planting fruits is good for nature, and helps residents tap into more income streams,” he said.

This action reaffirms PAL’s commitment to supporting Sustainable Development Goals, including ensuring responsible management of natural resources and ecosystems. Onwards, PAL plans to expand the coverage of its greening programs and involve more people in the safeguarding of Papua’s natural wealth.

“With a base in the beautiful island of Papua, we as TSE Group are committed to delivering conservation and community empowerment work. Today’s activity aligns with our Sustainable Development Goals pledge on environment and sustainable development, where we contribute to greening and long-term economic benefits,” said TSE Group’s PR General Manager Daniel Sim Ayomi.

As a TSE Group subsidiary, Papua Agro Lestari runs a sustainable business built on economic, social, and environmental principles. In addition to tree planting, the company installs “protection signages” to campaign for the protection of rare and protected animals in South Papua, like the birds-of-paradise and pig-nosed turtles. In the spirit of collaboration, we look forward to making big environmental and community impacts from such a small step. (PR)
