SOUTH PAPUA – It was a lively Wednesday (11/26) morning at Kigorun Public Elementary, where dozens of students had gathered for a tree-planting activity by Berkat Cipta Abadi (BCA).

This event demonstrates corporate support for early environmental education and aims to introduce conservation in a practical way with the involvement of local students and teachers.

Participants soon got down to work, digging the soil and sowing and watering the seedlings. Later, they continued with a school cleanup, building a habit of hygiene.

“We believe environmental awareness starts young. Our children are the generation of the future, impacted by our work today. By engaging them in tree-planting, we hope to grow a love for the surroundings, one that takes root,” said Andri Setiawan, who attended on behalf of BCA’s ISPO team.

This initiative was welcomed for its fun, insightful out-of-class learning experience.

“Events like this are valuable. It’s by holding the [actual] plant, digging soil, and planting that we get to prove our love for the environment. [And I’m] amazed with the enthusiasm today. I hope our collaboration with Berkat Cipta Abadi continues,” said Kigorun teacher Herman Sagur.

Through greening, the company not only contributes to preservation efforts; it also fosters a sense of compassion and responsibility.

Although small, this activity is expected to make a huge impact on the ecosystem. Similarly, the excitement surrounding it is expected to grow into a long-term commitment that benefits current and future generations. (PR)
