SOUTH PAPUA – Limited access to education is a common problem for those living in secluded regions, not excluding Papua. Extremely long distances between homes and schools and the lack of transportation modes in these areas have become a challenge for children yearning to learn. It makes little surprise that many find journeys to school quite taxing.
Road access and school transport are fundamental to ensuring kids remain safe when traveling to and from school. They are a main focus for Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group as an oil palm plantation manager in South Papua.
The company tries to solve this issue through school bus provision, which will shorten travel time and prevent students from walking for kilometers on end just to reach educational facilities. This will enable them to save energy and focus more on their studies.
In doing this, TSE Group coordinates with schools, which allows 21 buses to operate across its business units in Merauke and Boven Digoel.
The vehicles come with comfortable seats, air conditioning, and an optimum security system. All these features make for a safe shuttle service for daily commutes.
“With the buses, we can reach those who live in remote places and bring them to schools without difficulties. They can have a chance to get quality education,” said TSE manager Stanislaus Wasa.
