BOVEN DIGOEL – A modern primary health facility owned by Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group, Asiki Clinic, plays an active role in the acceleration of Covid-19 vaccination program currently being run by the government. This involvement is done by deploying medical personnel as vaccinators and preparing the supporting facilities.
For information, Asiki Clinic is a modern primary clinic in Asiki, Boven Digoel, Papua which is supported by advanced equipment. This clinic provides free health care for Indigenous Papuans (OAP). Especially those who live and work in TSE Group operational area in Asiki.
Manager of Asiki Clinic, Dr. Firman Jayawijaya said that all 12 medical personnel were directly involved in the vaccination program. Every day, about five to six of them are on duty to provide vaccination. “The rest continue to work for the usual health services,” he said.
In accordance with the government regulations, medical personnel at Asiki Clinic have different duties in the vaccination program. Starting from administration, screening of participants prior to vaccination, providing vaccine injections, to assistance in post-vaccine observation. All medical personnel who provide their service are confirmed to have received training.
In carrying out the Covid-19 vaccination, Asiki Clinic is not alone. A total of 108 medical personnel in eight Asiki clinics are actively involved in making the vaccination program a success.
Firman explained that until now, the vaccination process has been carried out for around 1,078 public service workers namely teachers, the National Armed Forces, and the National Police, to merchants in the Asiki area. The program was carried out at the Asiki Clinic in proper conditions with advanced equipment to ensure the comfort of the people as vaccine recipients.
At the moment, Asiki Clinic and other health facilities in Asiki are waiting for the next batch of vaccine shipment from the government. They still need at least 1,500 doses of vaccines to reach the target. “Our microplanning target in the second stage of vaccination for public service workers is around 2,600 people,” Firman revealed.
After the second stage of vaccination for public service workers, health facilities in Asiki will again arrange microplanning method for the next vaccine recipients, which is the general public. Firman hoped that the procurement and distribution process will not experience obstacles to ensure that the Covid-19 vaccination can quickly reach all community groups in Asiki.
In addition to the Covid-19 vaccination, Asiki Clinic is active in various activities that are also part of the government program. These include stopping the death rate of pregnant women and newborns in the remote area of Asiki and suppressing malaria cases that were once spread across Papua.
This contribution is proof of TSE Group’s social responsibility through its health facilities to help improve the welfare of the community around the company’s area, especially in the health sector. On the other hand, Asiki Clinic’s involvement is a commitment from TSE Group to accelerate the implementation of government programs. (din/pr)
