BOVEN DIGOEL – Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group launched its competency development center, TSE Corporate University (TSE CORPU), at its regional office in Asiki Village, Jair District (Boven Digoel Regency) on Wednesday (4/8/2026).

This move marks a strategic step towards embedding continuous learning throughout the organization. TSE CORPU aims to be the “center of excellence for change and innovation”.

Managing Director Inlae Kim said at the opening ceremony that building manpower is key to navigating through global and national challenges.

“Our goals with TSE CORPU are to enhance competencies and promote effective, efficient pursuit of company objectives,” Kim said. “With collaboration and shared passion for learning, we can overcome future challenges.”

The facility’s inauguration featured a ribbon-cutting rite involving Inlae Kim, TSE Group’s Director Joonghwan Kim, and Learning & Innovation Center leader Setiyono. It symbolized the start of operation for TSE CORPU.

This site will run structured training programs, including employee onboarding, progressing (leadership development), upskilling (job-specific skill development), and management trainee (management training for future leaders).

“The programs are designed to address business needs in fast-tracking production target achievements and improving efficiency and effectiveness across our departments. In short, we teach the things our company needs to learn so we can grow and compete,” Setiyono said.

TSE CORPU features training rooms, a dormitory for trainers and trainees, a main hall, a canteen, a prayer room, a computer lab, and a staff room to support integrated learning.

SOUTH HALMAHERA – PT Gelora Mandiri Membangun (GMM) has once again demonstrated a commitment to people development through its latest Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) program, a school bag donation to 40 high-achieving students in South West Gane District, South Halmahera, North Maluku.

These bags were provided to students across two high schools: Nurul Hasan High in Sekely Village and South Halmahera Public High 27 in Inner Gane Village. Each school was allocated 20 bags for 20 students following a strict data-collection process that ensured the donations were distributed to those in need and who have shown achievements in and out of class.

A symbolic distribution ceremony was held on March 20, 2026 by GMM’s CSC team. This event was attended by school representatives, village officials, and other locals. Warmth and camaraderie filled the air, reflecting the good synergy between GMM and local communities.

BOVEN DIGOEL – Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group celebrated this year’s Easter with hundreds of staple food donations for Boven Digoel and Merauke locals, distributed through its subsidiaries PT TSE, PT Berkat Cipta Abadi (BCA), and PT Papua Agro Lestari (PAL).

The initiative made sure everyone could feel Easter joy, including those in the most remote places.

TSE Group’s General Manager, Daniel Sim Ayomi, said at the distribution event Wednesday (4/1/2026), “We want to ensure the joy of Easter is shared with everyone and especially people in hard-to-reach locations.”

Representatives were deployed to hand out the food kits to indigenous groups, the elderly, orphans, and churches within PT TSE, BCA, and PAL’s operational locations. Each kit contained rice, cooking oil, granulated sugar, and other essentials.

SOUTH PAPUA – Mornings at Miri State Elementary (SDN Persiapan Miri) begin with little steps of hope. In these modest classrooms, teachers work tirelessly to fill young minds with knowledge.

Teda Gembenop is no exception. As a voluntary teacher, she pours her heart into her students, even when the weight of daily needs occasionally pulls at her focus.

It’s why the recent honorarium payment from Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group brought her so much joy and relief. Beyond physical aid, the Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) program is a morale booster and a payoff of her long-standing dedication to teaching. For Teda, this financial support is a reminder that her efforts to serve the community are seen and valued.

“I can buy items and still have some [money] left for other needs,” she said. “It gives me more motivation to learn.”

In rural South Papua, challenges to education delivery extend beyond the classroom. Distance, access, and economic limitations are other hurdles constantly faced by local schools. Amid such conditions, tangible support is central to kindling the hopes of teachers and students.

SOUTH PAPUA – A few days before Eid al-Fitr, Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group donated basic food aid to mosques near its Boven Digoel and Merauke sites. PT Papua Agro Lestari (PAL) and PT Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) were mobilized Friday (3/20/2026) to distribute the items.

This donation aimed to support mosque caretakers and attendees in handling the surge in events during Ramadan and Eid. Both PAL and TSE focused on meeting the rising operational needs at these facilities.

Al-Ikhlas Mosque caretaker Satiman saw the kits from TSE as more than physical support. For him, these kits mean continued solidarity, one that came through when demand for operational resources soared to accommodate more mosque activities.

“Huge thanks to the company. This kit would definitely help us serve our jama’ah [attendees], more importantly ahead of Eid. I hope it becomes a blessing [for everyone] and brings TSE and our community closer.”

Basic food aid provision is part of TSE Group’s ongoing efforts to build relationships with the people it serves.

DEPOK – TSE Group subsidiary PT Papua Agro Lestari (PAL) has been awarded an Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certificate, meaning it now meets the oil palm plantation standards mandated in Agriculture Ministerial Regulation No. 33 of 2025.

PAL is the last to be certified out of TSE Group’s palm oil businesses that include PT Tunas Sawa Erma (2016), PT Berkat Cipta Abadi (2019), PT Dongin Prabhawa (2019), and PT Gelora Mandiri Membangun (2024).

TSE Group’s Sangjo Woo received the plaque on behalf of the company’s management Wednesday (3/11/2026) from MUTU International’s Director of Operations Irham Budiman at the latter’s office in Depok, West Java.

Accompanying Woo were TSE Group’s Director Luwy Leunufna and officials Heeseong An, Dannu Ichsan, and Rama Chrysta.

In Papua’s waters, one notable species is the pig-nosed turtle (Carettochelys insculpta), a unique reptile believed to have survived for over 100 million years. Meanwhile, up in the tropical forest canopy, the greater bird-of-paradise (Paradisaea apoda) dances with its distinctive golden feathers, serving as a symbol of Papua’s natural beauty.

Both species inhabit the Kali Kao region, a river that is integral to the forest ecosystem and a life source for local communities. For many residents, Kali Kao is more than just a waterway; it is the lifeblood connecting humans, forests, and wildlife that have coexisted for generations.

Through a documentary video, Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group highlights the importance of protecting the habitats of Papua’s endemic wildlife, given their high ecological value. The video portrays Kali Kao as a home to various species, including the river-dwelling pig-nosed turtles and the canopy-inhabiting greater birds-of-paradise.

MERAUKE – Indigenous Papuans see land and nature as their “mother”. Failing to protect both means severing ties with culture and ancestral history — as well as a disregard for birds-of-paradise, cockatoos, and many other local, sometimes unknown species whose lives rely on the environment.

Communities seek to uphold this principle, and PT Dongin Prabhawa (DP) is supporting such efforts through community “classes”, including the one in Banamepe Village, Edera District, Mappi Regency, where nature is home to exotic animals and plants.

At this latest event, DP’s staff members saw themselves welcomed by villagers from young to old. The class, held at one of the houses, soon engaged the audience in discussion.

The Banamepes were encouraged to understand and play their role in the preservation of local ecosystems and protected wildlife, which represent the unique natural heritage of Papua.

“We must safeguard our environment, this means no illegal hunting of animals, and especially protected species, which are going extinct. As part of indigenous communities, you form the frontline of this work,” said Rahmadiyah Idris from DP’s sustainability team on Saturday (3/7/2026).

DP also dispatched its medical team to hold free on-site screening. As they got to work, some locals went to cook with DP staff members, building camaraderie and harmony among them.

“DP’s visit is great for us. It’s nice to be participating in a positive activity,” said Adam Yame, Banamepe’s village secretary.
