This cultural richness prompted PT Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cenderawasih University (Uncen) in Jayapura, Papua, on Wednesday (September 30, 2026).

This collaboration encompasses community service and empowerment programs, including ethnographic studies related to the social, cultural, and linguistic conditions of the local communities. SOUTH HALMAHERA – PT Gelora Mandiri Membangun (PT GMM) distributed 2,000 milk products through three community health centers (Puskesmas) in the vicinity of the company’s operational area on Wednesday (September 30, 2026). This assistance represents the company’s social commitment to the communities within the health centers’ service areas.

The assistance was channeled through the Gane Barat Selatan District Health Center, Gane Timur Selatan District Health Center, and Kepulauan Joronga District Health Center. The service areas of these three health centers encompass a total of eight villages.

Distribution through the community health centers is expected to expand the reach of the assistance to the communities in their respective service areas. Furthermore, the milk products will be distributed to beneficiary families to be utilized according to their needs.

PT GMM Director, Jibae Park, stated that the company’s involvement in community social activities is part of an ongoing effort to foster positive relationships with the communities surrounding the operational area.

• Understanding of the oil palm plantation development processes.
• Familiarity with SAP as a plantation management system.
• Willingness to travel to plantation sites as required by company.

• Manage KCP operations, from kernel receipt to processing into CPKO and PKE in accordance with SOPs.
• Carry out KCP operations and perform maintenance on main and auxiliary machinery.
• Ensure that production, losses, and product quality meet established company targets and standards.
• Prepare reports and analyze KCP performance, including production, capacity, OER, losses, efficiency, and product quality.
• Troubleshoot process issues and provide recommendations to improve operational performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in KCP operations.
• Understanding of OER, kernel losses, throughput, extraction efficiency, and equipment reliability.
• Understanding of production processes and maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Understanding of OHS/HSE requirements in production and maintenance activities.

• Oversee ISPO certification audits and PROPER assessments, ensuring compliance with applicable requirements within palm oil mill operations.
• Prepare all documents required for ISPO certification and PROPER assessment within palm oil mill operations.
• Ensure that each subsidiary unit submits all required ISPO- and PROPER-related reports to the relevant authorities within the deadlines.
• Understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and legal requirements related to ISPO and PROPER is considered an advantage.
• Able to coordinate with stakeholders for certification and assessment purposes.

Qualifications:

• Diploma-III (D3) or bachelor’s degree (S1) in Agriculture/Environmental Studies/

BOVEN DIGOEL – For communities residing along the banks of the Digoel River, particularly in the Subur and Aiwat Villages of the Subur District, limited access to major healthcare facilities, such as regional hospitals, frequently leads residents to neglect medical conditions that require immediate attention.

Furthermore, the humid environmental conditions and poor sanitation in the coastal areas significantly impact public health, leading to the emergence of acute respiratory infections (ARI) and skin irritations, which are common complaints among the community.

“Merely visiting a doctor is not a simple task for the people here. The transportation route, which relies solely on the river, combined with extensive travel times, often serves as the primary barrier. Due to our village’s coastal location, accessing adequate healthcare is indeed quite challenging,” stated the administrator of Subur Village, Xaverius Aute.

This concern drew the attention of PT Berkat Cipta Abadi (PT BCA), which subsequently organized a free healthcare service program. During the visit, the medical team from the PT BCA Clinic, led by Dr. Rizal Irsan, provided care not only to adults but also to toddlers and the elderly.

“The medical procedures we conduct include general health examinations, followed by the provision of medication corresponding to the patients’ complaints. Through early medical interventions such as this, we aim to prevent the development of more chronic diseases in the future. It is our hope that the community here remains in good health,” Dr. Rizal recently stated.

MERAUKE – The two-hour journey did not deter PT Dongin Prabhawa (DP)’s team from going to Salamepe Village, part of Ngguti District in Merauke Regency. Traveling by land, the group had to take a path through the forest, tackling difficult terrain.

Under its Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) program, the company taught villagers about environmental conservation. This initiative is part of efforts to strengthen public awareness of protecting local ecosystems.

DP’s ISPO (Indonesia Sustainable Palm Oil) officers led the session, where they also encouraged the audience to engage in endemic biodiversity preservation. This session targeted both adults and children.

Imam Purwono, DP’s ISPO manager, said conservation education needs to be promoted more, as hunting remains rampant.

“Biodiversity is our natural wealth that we need to safeguard together. That’s why we urge communities to protect the environment at all times to prevent extinction,” Imam said at his interview last August.

Alongside this session, DP provided free health services. “We deeply value the social initiatives and efforts to help us,” said Zein Hairu on behalf of the Salamepe community.

The medical team ran blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol screenings, offered consultations, and distributed free medicines and vitamins.

Screening results identified several illnesses, ranging from flu, fever, and coughs to malaria and skin conditions affecting children. These issues stemmed from unhealthy lifestyles, which drove the medical team to educate residents on clean, healthy habits.

DP’s work didn’t stop at adult medical exams. Toddlers and older children also benefited from the check-up and posyandu (maternal and child health) services. With this, the company hoped to ease access to healthcare and strengthen its existing bond with local communities. (PR)

SOUTH HALMAHERA – PT Gelora Mandiri Membangun (GMM) is actively championing lifelong learning through scholarships for 22 university students who reside in surrounding villages. The awarding ceremony took place recently on Thursday (9/10/2026).

Present at the event was Rasdin Baharudin, a resident of Kurunga Village. The awardee saw this initiative as a lifeline at a time when government scholarship programs are no longer available.

“On behalf of all recipients, I would like to thank PT GMM for upholding its commitment to continuing its education-focused CSR program, the scholarships,” Rasdin said. “We badly need this support as the local government no longer offers college scholarships.”

The young man is just one of four people from Kurunga who were awarded by GMM this year. Like the other three, he had to leave his hometown and travel to another island to continue his education.

Rasdin is enrolled at Khairun University in Ternate (North Maluku), ten hours away by boat. Long travel hours are part and parcel of the rural student experience, specifically that of students in GMM’s operational area. Given these circumstances, Rasdin found the scholarships to be incredibly valuable.

“We’re also deeply grateful for all the facilities provided for this year’s batch. We hope programs like this will remain available in the years to come.. [and] we promise to make the best possible use of these scholarships and not waste this opportunity,” he vowed.

To Rasdin — and the other beneficiaries — the long distance between home and school is only a tiny part of their journey to reach the future. GMM hopes this journey doesn’t stop at college, but carries on back to the villages through applying knowledge and experience to drive development. (PR)
